International Astronautical Congress 2022 (IAC 2022) will bring together all space communities, alongside the burgeoning global ecosystem and start-ups, entrepreneurs, laboratories, research scientists and manufacturers that could get involved in space activities or benefit from them.
We are developing the Estonian space policy and space business and promote international cooperation. Our goal is to provide Estonian companies with new business opportunities on markets contributing to high technology.
KappaZeta is a science-driven remote sensing company – one of the few with expertise to meaningfully utilize Sentinel-1 radar data. Using radar imagery provides a more regular and timely data feed compared to optical data, which is affected by cloud interference and variable illumination conditions. Continuously measured and calculated parameters, together with machine learning algorithms, enable us to solve monitoring use-cases for numerous industries, with agriculture being the focus so far.
Crystalspace is doing R&D in space camera systems and innovation in space illumination modules that complement cameras. Crystalspace cameras are in the Earth’s orbit and also landing on the Moon in 2023 with NASA Artemis mission. Crystalspace camera systems are small and lightweight, suitable for cubesats, satellites, landers, rovers etc. with main usecases: computer vision, monitoring mission critical events, separation, landing etc. Cameras are also available in stereo configuration.
SKUDO’s hardware-based technology enables us to provide secure encryption and authentication that can be integrated in any data communication solution that needs high level of security. At SKUDO we have developed our own FPGA encryption chip (HSM on a chip), made entirely in Europe, fully verifiable, transparent and backdoor free. SKUDO works daily on projects that need cybersecurity – with ESA(European Space Agency) contracts, with other EU space companies, and developing encryption IP softcores.
CybExer Technologies provides comprehensive cyber security training solutions to increase organizational cyber resilience. Our platform offers a range of advanced cyber security training modules designed to enhance the cyber capabilities of organizations. Our cyber range visualization and situational awareness solution has been recognized with the prestigious NATO Defence Innovation Award for its industry-leading capabilities.
Founded in 2015, Spaceit offers infrastructure for satellite communications as-a-service. Spaceit has developed a single cloud-based platform for mission control, ground station services, and cyber defence exercises. It is used for telemetry and telecommand (TMTC), binary data exchange, payload data delivery, orbit and contactprediction, contact management. The platform is aggregating various groundstation services, providing cross network communication worldwide. Furthermore, Spaceit platform is used in large-scale live fire cyber defence exercises (suchas NATO CCDCOE’s Locked Shields with over 3,000 participants), as well as development, testing and validation of satellite communication systems.
Milrem Robotics is the leading European robotics and autonomous systems developer and systems integrator. Through our products and services, we seek to increase human safety and labour efficiency in a number of targeted industries, particularly in defence, agriculture, forestry, municipal services, rescue and mining. Milrem Robotics secured recently a European Space Agency contract to start applying its autonomy capabilities towards planetary rovers.
Tartu Observatory is the main space research centre in Estonia. The research areas of Tartu Observatory are space technology, Earth observation, cosmology, and stellar physics. The Space Technology Department focuses on tasks required for humanity’s long-term sustainable existence and further expansion into space, including space navigation, mapping, space technology, in-situ resource utilization, and astrobiology. As the technologies required for space use need to be tested on Earth, the department is also involved in industrial autonomous ground vehicle development.
Guardtime was founded in Estonia and operates globally with a team of over 150 cryptographers, developers and security architects, with decades of experience defending networks from nation-state attack. Guardtime develops the core technology, applications and tools for ensuring integrity of systems, processes and data, at massive scale, in real-time. Our technology and solutions are widely used in production by governments in the EU, US and China, but also by global clients.
We are an electronics design house specialized on fulfilling the demands on scientific instrumentation market. We also have a long mass-manufacturing experience in consumer products. Merging those two we can help you think ahead of your competitors and out-of-the-box while making sure the products can still be manufactured profitably and will work properly on the field. We are pretty aware that you can not lobby for changing the laws of physics, but have to work within constraints of this common framework.
At TalTech, engineering and IT go hand in hand. This is reflected in the curricula combining the fields. Engineers who have graduated from TalTech have created significant solutions for Estonia. This practical contribution will continue, becoming increasingly intelligent in the future. Notable space technologies in TalTech are fault-tolerant embedded systems development, post-quantum crypto and solar cell development from Moon regolith. TalTech student satellite project has sent 2 cubesats to orbit, and is now preparing a pocketQube satellite. We are looking for cooperation in these developments.
