Estonia’s industrial equipment sector consolidates: Alwark Group acquires Willenbrock Baltic, adding warehouse, port, and construction machinery capabilities across the Baltics.

Estonia continues to be a magnet for international, export-oriented investments. This week, it was announced that the international heavy equipment and industrial solutions group Alwark Group has acquired Willenbrock Baltic, an Estonian company specialising in the sale, rental, and servicing of forklifts and warehouse equipment.

As a result of the deal, Willenbrock Baltic will join Alwark Group, with all group companies operating across the Baltic states and Ukraine henceforth trading under the unified Alwark brand.

According to Willenbrock Baltic’s Chief Executive, Siimo Tänavots, the merger will not disrupt existing operations. “The team and local expertise remain unchanged. The transition to the Alwark brand will take place during 2026, and it will give Estonian clients access to a significantly broader range of products and services across the group,” said Tänavots.

Tänavots also noted a curious historical footnote: both Alwark and Willenbrock Baltic trace their origins to the same German founders, meaning the acquisition in effect reunites two companies that share common roots.

Industrial reunion

Alwark Group Chief Executive Julius Urbanavičius said that consolidating the companies would help better coordinate the group’s various business lines. “We operate across several sectors — warehouse and port logistics, municipal equipment, automation, and construction machinery,” he said, adding that bringing the entities together would improve operational coordination.

Alwark Group was established in 2024 to bring together previously independent companies operating in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine under a single parent entity. The group’s aim is to streamline management and improve service accessibility by operating under one brand in each country.

Alwark’s origins stretch back nearly 20 years, when it began as a local representative of German forklift manufacturer Linde. Following a management buyout in 2015, the business expanded into several new segments and today sells, rents, and services new and used material handling, warehousing, port, construction, and industrial machinery, alongside a range of related services.

For Estonian clients, the integration means access to the group’s full portfolio — spanning 27 represented brands — along with enhanced servicing and rental capabilities and consistently higher service standards designed to meet increasingly complex customer requirements.
