Estonian lighting manufacturer Adamlights is preparing a production operation in Dubai as it targets a twofold increase in turnover over the next five years.
The company, which has delivered lighting solutions to customers in more than 50 countries, is using the expansion to build a stronger presence in the Gulf market.The plans were reported by Tööstusuudised.
Adamlights is preparing to start production in Dubai without initially building and owning a separate factory, according to the report. Its approach is intended to support local delivery while limiting the fixed costs of entering a new market.
Adamlights builds on an international project base
For over 25 years, Adamlights develops and manufactures decorative lighting solutions for public spaces, buildings and large-scale installations. The company’s work includes seasonal decorations, illuminated façades and three-dimensional light installations. It is completing more than 1,000 lighting installations a year and had a 4,000-square-metre production area in Estonia.
The company has already supplied projects in Europe, North America and other international markets. The Dubai operation would take that international activity closer to customers in the Gulf.
Growth with tighter cost control
Ivari Roosileht, Adamlights’ chief executive, identified cost control as the main challenge in a period of rapid expansion. The company plans to keep more complex products and product development in Estonia, where it has the specialist capability and established production base, while using partners for selected overseas operations.
That model allows Adamlights to separate high-value design and development work from local manufacturing and installation requirements. It also gives the company a way to test demand in a new market before committing to a larger fixed-cost footprint.
Adamlights’ next stage will therefore combine its Estonian design and production base with a closer operating presence in the Gulf. The company’s stated five-year target will depend not only on securing new projects, but also on keeping the cost of that international network under control.
