Estonian car-sales platform Autobahn.Tech — nearly 400 dealerships, €2B+ in transactions — is moving into Western Balkan markets, targeting a region with strong growth potential.
Estonia might not be the biggest automotive centre, but it does have a software twist to the industry and is ready to export.Autobahn.Tech, an Estonian company that develops cloud-based software for car dealerships, is expanding into seven new markets across the Western Balkans and the Adriatic coast.
The company, founded in Tallinn in 2012, currently operates in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Finland, where its platform is used by around 400 dealerships. The software connects manufacturers, importers, dealers and end customers within a single digital system, covering the full sales and supply chain. Global brands represented on the platform include Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Opel, Honda and Subaru, among others.
To date, over 120,000 vehicle transactions have been processed through the system, with a combined value exceeding €2 billion. Autobahn.Tech’s shareholders include Estonian entrepreneurs Väino Kaldoja, Kristjan-Thor Vähi and Juss Lemba, German firm e&Co AG, and other international partners.
The seven new target markets are Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Albania.

Reading the Balkan region
Heading up the regional push is Darin Janković, Autobahn.Tech’s Adriatic region director, who brings three decades of industry experience to the role. He describes the target markets as diverse and complex, but full of potential.
Slovenia, he says, is the most developed of the seven, comparable in maturity to Austria or Switzerland. Around 65,000 new cars were registered there last year, with an exceptionally high proportion in premium trim levels. Croatia follows, with roughly 70,000 new registrations in 2024.
Serbia, despite sitting outside the European Union, stands out as the market with the greatest growth potential. “Although Serbia has twice the population of Slovenia and Croatia combined, only around 32,000 new vehicles were registered there last year. Clearly, Serbia has the greatest growth potential for our service,” Janković said.
The expansion comes on the back of a strong financial year. Autobahn.Tech’s 2024 revenue reached €671,230 — up from €414,177 the previous year, representing near-doubling growth, reports Delfi. The company posted an improving unit economics as the business scales.
“Last year Autobahn.Tech nearly doubled its turnover. To sustain that growth rate, it is important to be present at the right time in new and fast-developing markets,” said Chief executive Stig Terje Henriksen.
