Enterprise Estonia board member Sigrid Harjo and Lithuanian Innovation Agency director Romualda Stragienè signed a cooperation agreement to support innovation and exports for Estonian and Lithuanian companies.

“International collaboration in research and development is essential because it provides additional expertise, better market understanding, and potential clients. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Lithuanian Innovation Agency allows us to jointly develop and support collaborative development between Estonian and Lithuanian companies, as well as jointly support their exports. Additionally, it facilitates moving towards international value chains,” said Sigrid Harjo.

“Companies are particularly interested in sectors such as ICT and biotechnology, and the defense industry due to the current situation,” explained Harjo. The topics being discussed include creating a joint support round to promote development cooperation between Estonian and Lithuanian companies, as well as exchanging information about export markets.

The Lithuanian Innovation Agency promotes the Lithuanian innovation ecosystem and innovation, from idea development to offering products and services to end-users. Their clients range from startups to small and medium-sized enterprises. The agency manages several measures supporting innovation, digitalisation, and entrepreneurship, with a budget of over 500 million euros over the next few years. The Lithuanian Innovation Agency, with more than 300 workers, has its headquarters in Vilnius and regional offices in 13 Lithuanian cities.
