Estonia, one of Europe’s most digitally advanced and business-friendly environments, has just made it even easier for foreign investors to find their ideal industrial footprint. A simplified investor view has been completed for the industrial sites map application, a free, publicly accessible tool that gives entrepreneurs a clear overview of suitable areas in moments.

No local contacts needed, enter simply your requirements and the application instantly matches your criteria against more than 460 vetted industrial locations across the country. Whether you are scouting for manufacturing space, logistics hubs, or production facilities, Estonia’s compact geography, seamless digital infrastructure, and EU membership make it an ideal choice for establishing a strategic presence in the region.

Estonia puts 460 industrial sites on the map for investors

According to the Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry of the Republic of Estonia, Erkki Keldo, the investor view is a comprehensive and convenient tool that puts everything you need within quick reach. “An investor no longer needs to gather information piece by piece — they can start making decisions right away,” he noted. “For the first time, previously scattered information has been brought together on a single map, highlighting opportunities and accelerating decisions. This is a signal that investments are welcome.”

Since the end of last year, an industrial sites map application has been available for public use on the Land and Spatial Development Board’s geoportal, showing areas suitable for business across Estonia. A convenient web solution has now been added for entrepreneurs. Suitable business areas can be searched across all of Estonia or within selected counties. The investor map shows the location and area of each site, its distance as the crow flies to Tallinn Airport and the nearest cargo port, as well as to a state road, a freight railway station, and an electrical substation.

From Ida-Virumaa to Harjumaa, Estonia’s full industrial potential is now available

The solution presents all site-related data in a compact format and requires no specialist skills to use. Currently, spatial data is available for 462 sites suitable for industry and manufacturing. The highest number of sites is in Ida-Virumaa, with 76 locations, followed by Harjumaa with 54 industrial sites. The view consists of 15 data layers, most of which are fed automatically from other data sources. New sites and data are being added on an ongoing basis.

The need for a data map emerged through collaboration with entrepreneurs. “I commend the state for its prompt action and practical solution. The response to the expectations of the industrial sector clearly demonstrates that the state listens to businesses and that every constructive proposal truly counts,” said Veljo Konnimois, head of Radius Machining OÜ. He added that the systematisation and accessibility of information saves entrepreneurs time and helps regional potential translate into real investments significantly faster.

The map solution and investor view were developed in cooperation between the Republic of Estonia Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, the Land and Spatial Development Board, and Enterprise Estonia. Regional development centres are responsible for ensuring that data from their respective areas is added to the map.
