The Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture, Piret Hartman, has started a visit to India with a delegation of Estonian food and beverage companies. This visit aims to introduce the Estonian food and beverage sector in India and explore opportunities for increasing Estonia’s exports to the country.
The initiators of the visit are Estonian entrepreneurs who see great potential in trade with India and are interested in expanding their market. Estonian food industry companies have high-quality products to offer, as India, like many other countries, is increasingly focused on sustainability and clean food production.
“Estonia already exports cheese to India, but there is also significant potential for exporting other dairy products, cereals, beverages, plant products, and agricultural technology. Direct communication and face-to-face meetings create the prerequisites and trust for establishing long-term partnerships,” said Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Piret Hartman.
Bilateral cooperation between Estonia and India
Minister Hartman will meet with the Governor of Maharashtra, the Indian Minister of Agriculture, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry during the visit. The aim of the meetings is to discuss opportunities for promoting bilateral cooperation and developing relations between the two countries.
In addition to the Ministry of Regional Development and Agriculture, the Indian visit is supported and organised by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Foundation and the Estonian Embassy in New Delhi. The Estonian business delegation includes A. Le Coq, Balsnack International Holding, Bon Vegan, Haage Joogid, Revala, Saku Õlletehase, TFTAK, Tohi Distillery, Vegestar, YOOK Production.
