Estonian company Forus expands its business in Latvia

In July, the Estonian company Forus International began a partnership with Amserv, Mobire, and the Latvian taxi company Red Cab, bringing up to 100 new environmentally friendly cars to the Latvian market to provide high-quality and safe service to customers and a complete software solution to partners.

According to Loukas Tzitzis, CEO of Forus International, this marks the initial phase towards achieving a broader objective that offers commercial and sustainable advantages for all parties involved. “We are establishing a new service standard for Latvian customers. Our partners will receive digital business software and new cars from us, ensuring an environmentally friendly, safe, and comfortable taxi service for customers,” he said.

“We are pleased to announce that the first partner to adopt this new value proposition is the well-established taxi company Red Cab. We have extensive plans for both Latvia and the broader Baltic region. We are confident that this new value proposition has the potential to significantly expand business and sustainable benefits, not just for Forus, but also for our partners and end customers,” Tzitzis added.

Forus offers more flexibility to their partners

Mārtiņš Legzda, CEO of Red Cab, mentioned that this cooperation model is new for the entire Latvian taxi market. The main beneficiary of this cooperation is the customer, who can now enjoy service with new and environmentally friendly cars. “Cars can be ordered from the Forus app and the Red Cab dispatcher, and cars can be stopped on the street or in front of the airport. The first 11 cars are certainly a significant step, but our ambition is bigger, and we plan to further increase the number of new cars in the near future,” added Legzda.

According to Jānis Trēziņš, the country manager of Mobire Latvija, the rental model created is flexible and allows the taxi company to quickly update its fleet with new cars. “Just as leasing or buying a personal car is no longer necessary, taxi companies can also change their fleet more flexibly to offer a high quality of service,” Trēziņš added.

Taxis ordered through the Forus platform have made more than 3.5 million trips so far. Over the past year, the app has been updated to include car rental, Tuul scooters, and package delivery services. 250,000 co-owners have started collecting virtual units, and 660,000 US tokens have been distributed to them.

Forus app is a service platform from Estonia, which today operates in three countries and a total of 18 cities: Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Haapsalu, Rakvere, Viljandi, Narva, Jõhvi, Kohtla-Järve, Sillamäe, Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Riga, Jūrmala, Liepāja , Daugavpils and Alytus.
