Estonia’s leading provider of interior solutions, Standard, has expanded its international presence by opening a new representative office in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector is one of the fastest growing in the world, driven by the country’s Vision 2030 goals and extensive investments in tourism and hospitality infrastructure. By 2030, the country aims to attract nearly 100 million visitors annually, and within the next five years, more than 150,000 new hotel rooms are expected to be added to the market. This creates a unique opportunity for experienced interior partners.

“Since a large part of our supply chain is based in Estonia, Standard’s presence in the market also creates additional business and cooperation opportunities for other Estonian furniture companies.”

Opening the representative office in Riyadh is an important step for our company to be closer to clients and provide the best service,” said Jonatan Karjus, Chairman of the Management Board of Standard.

“Since a large part of our supply chain is based in Estonia, Standard’s presence in the market also creates additional business and cooperation opportunities for other Estonian furniture companies,” added he.

The representative office in Saudi Arabia was officially inaugurated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna. In addition to Standard, Marmi Futerno’s stone processing solutions and Tarmeko’s seating furniture were also presented.

Standard is an 80-year-old furniture manufacturer focusing on furnishing business environments both in Estonia and internationally.

“Standard has experience in the Saudi Arabian market and the capability to execute top-level interior projects. We see a growing demand for high-quality, sustainable, and functional furnishing solutions that meet international standards. I believe our partnership will contribute to the development of both the hospitality and office sectors in Saudi Arabia,” said Abdullah Alsayel, Standard’s Regional Business Manager.

Over the past ten years, the company has furnished seven hotels in the GCC region. Beyond the hotel sector, the company has also established a strong position in furnishing offices – in 2025, Standard furnished the Riyadh office of an international technology corporation. The Riyadh representation also opens up the opportunity to develop business relations more broadly in the countries of the region.
