From metalwork to mechanical mastery: Estonia’s industrial minds head to the FMB 2024 in Germany 

From November 5-7, 2024, Estonian companies from Estonia’s metalworking and mechanical engineering sectors will participate in FMB 2024, Germany’s premier event for mechanical engineering and manufacturing. This leading industrial expo unites top manufacturers, suppliers, and engineers, providing an influential platform for showcasing the latest advancements and technologies in engineering, automation, and precision manufacturing. 

“Germany’s industrial sector is focused on key goals such as addressing labor demands, achieving carbon-neutrality, and adopting advanced technologies. Estonian companies are well-positioned to support these efforts, demonstrating significant progress in automation and digitalization and offering adaptable solutions,” says Andri Haran, Head of the Federation of Estonian Engineering Industry. 

Trade Estonia’s joint stand at FMB 2024 includes key players from various industries, such as GIAB Machining, which manufactures metal components for automotive, energy, and mechanical engineering; CNC Star, specializing in CNC turning and milling of high-precision steel and aluminum parts; Alise Technic, a leading provider of engineering and production services for telecommunications, energy, and transportation sectors.

Also Radius Machining, focused on machining and hydraulic systems; Mikroonik, an expert in precision mechanics for medical, electronics, and aerospace sectors; and Hoob, known for comprehensive automation solutions and mechanical engineering services.

FMB opens doors for Estonian companies

“Our participation at FMB 2024 enhances Estonia’s reach within Germany and the Netherlands, showcasing our advanced engineering capabilities and building trust in the quality and reliability of Estonian companies,” stated Leana Kammertöns, Trade Estonia’s export advisor in Germany.

“Estonia’s metal and machinery sectors are building on the success of our IT industry, rapidly adopting new ideas and techniques that resonate in export markets,” Kammertöns added.

Andri Haran, CEO of the Federation of Estonian Engineering Industry, will deliver a presentation at FMB 2024, providing insights into how Estonian companies are leading advancements in manufacturing digitalization and advancing towards carbon neutrality.

Machinery and metalworking industry represent nearly a third of Estonia’s total industrial sector, with over 2,000 companies employing around 35,000 people. With 95% of its output exported, the sector significantly enhances Estonia’s presence in the global industrial landscape.
