Estonian companies are set to showcase the next generation of IoT, automation, and intelligent manufacturing solutions at the Electronica 2024 in Munich, the world-leading meeting point for the electronics industry, filling 18 halls in total. From innovative smart wearables to global eSim, intelligent manufacturing, and tailor-made automation solutions, Estonian companies are helping to create more efficient, clever, and sustainable devices.

“Estonia’s Tech and Electronics sector is built on speed, agility, and resilience, making it an ideal ground for businesses looking to test and scale cutting-edge solutions,” says Arno Kolk of the Estonian Electronics Association. Estonia’s commitment to IoT, automation, and manufacturing innovation makes local companies great strategic partners for businesses seeking to scale globally.

The Estonian electronics innovators are ready to tackle global problems and propose solutions.  “Now is the perfect time to innovate — whether by enhancing existing products or creating the next generation of electronic devices. With the next economic growth cycle starting, this is the crucial moment to prepare for the future,” comments Kaido Kevvai, CEO of Artec Design.

With a high efficiency, and 94% of electronics output exported, Estonian companies are trusted by some of the world’s biggest names across telecom, industrial, automotive, medical, aerospace, defence, and security sectors.

As to Taavi Jõgeva, Sales Director at 1oT, the electronics market holds significant potential for Estonian IoT solutions.

“The German IoT market is rapidly expanding, and new devices pop up daily, leading us towards Industry 4.0. Therefore, companies rely more on data-driven decision-making and connected devices that enhance operational efficiency and user experience,” remarks Jõgeva.

„At 1oT, we provide IoT companies seamless global connectivity that allows companies to focus on innovation while we handle the complexities of connectivity.”

Estonia: a strategic hub for IoT, intelligent automation and manufacturing

At Electronica 2024, six Estonian companies demonstrate their expertise:

Artec Design – innovating smart wearables and real-time IoT solutions

At the forefront of IoT and embedded systems, Artec Design offers end-to-end product development services and boasts more than 25 years of industry experience. Amongst their references is, for example, their Bluetooth BEAM signal repeater, used in intelligent wearables for real-time monitoring, which demonstrates their ability to create innovative solutions that enhance safety and healthcare.

They have developed a compact handheld digital palpation device for soft tissue assessment that precisely measures superficial skeletal muscles, tendons, ligaments, adipose tissue, and skin. The device has been launched to the International Space Station.

Their smart mouthguard for impact monitoring tracks and measures head impacts in sports, helping to improve athlete safety. For the healthcare industry, Artec Design has developed wearable lung monitoring electronics, allowing real-time respiratory health tracking, which supports diagnostics and preventive care.

Artec Design’s ePaper digital signage solution is already in use at universities in different European countries, amongst others at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Ridango ticket validation system is also one of their references.

1oT – the ’Tinder of eSIM’ simplifies global IoT connectivity

In a world where connectivity is vital, 1oT makes global IoT deployments simple by providing an eSIM platform that acts as the ’Tinder of telecoms’, allowing IoT devices to find their best match across 173 countries without negotiating deals.

Offering the highest security thanks to global GSMA certification, device connectivity is constantly optimized to ensure performance. Amongst their customers are Estonian Comodule, AuveTech, Clevon, and Okra.

With the new US SIM launched in October 2024, 1oT also offers full coverage across the U.S., allowing international IoT companies to scale their operations effortlessly.

At Electronica 2024, Estonia’s top companies are ready to collaborate with international partners and drive the global transformation of industries. Join us at Hall B1, Stand 313, to see how Estonia drives the convergence of IoT, automation, and intelligent manufacturing. Trade Estonia also invites interested businesses and journalists to a colloquial chat alongside Estonian snacks on Wed, 13 November, from 4 pm – 6 pm.
