Giken Sakata, a leading original equipment manufacturer in Asia, and 5.0 Robotics, an Estonian technology innovator in automation, announced a strategic partnership that marks Giken Sakata’s move towards a human-centric approach to manufacturing by integrating cutting-edge technology with human intelligence.

GSS Energy Limited announces its latest transformative step into Industry 5.0, driven by a strategic partnership between the Group’s wholly owned subsidiary, Giken Sakata, a leading original equipment manufacturer in Asia, and 5.0 Robotics, an Estonian technology innovator in automation.

At the core of this collaboration is the Minifactory, a revolutionary mobile production unit that addresses the growing need for regionalised and adaptable manufacturing. Co-developed by Giken Sakata and 5.0 Robotics, the Minifactory is powered by advanced robotics, AI, IoT, and high-performance Computer Numerical Control systems.

This compact and mobile solution enhances production capabilities by enabling rapid reconfiguration and optimised production lines, making it adaptable to diverse industry needs. The flexibility and adaptability of the Minifactory make it ideal for high-mix, low-volume production, on-demand manufacturing, and flexible production schedules that simplify supply chains and enhance responsiveness to market needs.

5.0 Robotics aim to revolutionise manufacturing in Asia

Giken Sakata’s transition to Industry 5.0 goes beyond mere automation and introduces human operators as a central element in the production process. By blending the precision of robotics with human creativity and oversight, Giken Sakata and 5.0 Robotics aim to revolutionise the way manufacturing operates in Asia and beyond. The Minifactory provides an affordable, easy-to-use solution that enables smaller manufacturers to compete with larger players.

This collaboration also highlights the deepening bilateral relationship between Singapore and Estonia, as both nations continue to innovate and cooperate on advanced manufacturing solutions. The recent opening of Estonia’s Embassy in Singapore underscores the growing cooperation between the two countries.

With the Minifactory at the core of its Industry 5.0 transformation, Giken Sakata is poised to lead the next era of smart manufacturing, ensuring that precision, human craftsmanship, and efficiency remain central to production processes.

Giken Sakata and 5.0 Robotics signed a Letter of Intent

To celebrate this landmark partnership, a special event was held on September 18, 2024 at the Estonian Business Hub in Singapore, hosted by the Estonian Embassy.
