Estonian company Montonio, a leading European payment and ecommerce solutions provider, started a strategic partnership with Unisend, the pan-Baltic parcel delivery network by Lithuania Post.
Montonio merchants in the Baltics can now use Unisend’s logistics services directly through Montonio’s platform – without any separate contract.
“E-commerce merchants in the Baltic countries have previously had to buy logistics solutions one by one, wrestling with high parcel rates, complex delivery processes and high operating costs to manage the various solutions. The need for efficient return management and reliable cross-border shipping further intensifies these challenges, especially for smaller retailers,” commented Johan Nord, CEO of Montonio.
“The new partnership between Montonio and Unisend leads to significant improvements in all of the above pain points for merchants, creating operational benefits and direct cost savings at the same time,” added Nord.
Montonio´s partnership with Unisend helps reduce costs
For merchants using Montonio’s platform, this partnership means streamlined operations. They can manage payments, print shipping labels, edit shipping details, and choose from multiple carriers, including Unisend’s parcel lockers, all within a efficient system. This helps merchants reduce costs and improve delivery reliability. Today, Montonio is used in 6,000+ online stores in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland.
Ruslanas Prokofjevas, Director of Business Development and Technology Department at Lithuania Post added: “We believe this collaboration will offer more opportunities for merchants to efficiently manage their shipping needs, ultimately enhancing their ability to serve customers and grow their businesses.”
Currently, the Unisend integration supports shipping to parcel lockers within Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia, and on cross-Baltic routes.
Unisend, which was already successful in Lithuania, launched its brand in Estonia and Latvia in early 2024, investing over EUR 4 million to add 300 parcel lockers to its network, making a total of more than 750 parcel lockers in the three Baltic countries. In the first half of 2023, 58% of all postal parcels in Lithuania were delivered via parcel lockers.
