Estonian company PowerUP Energy Technologies, a leading European developer of hydrogen fuel cell solutions, announced its expansion in Scandinavia through a strategic distribution agreement with Greener InfoTech Systems Sweden AB.
Under this agreement, Greener InfoTech Systems AB (GITSAB) will serve as the authorised distributor for PowerUP’s hydrogen-based energy generation products across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. This partnership is designed to meet the surging demand for portable, zero-emission power in a region that leads the world in the transition toward a hydrogen economy.
The future of clean power in the Nordics
“While the market has seen large-scale industrial hydrogen solutions, PowerUP fills the critical gap for autonomous, lightweight, and maintenance-free power,” said Ivar Kruusenberg, CEO and Founder of PowerUP. “Our PEM technology is engineered for ‘plug-and-play’ reliability—eliminating the complex liquid-cooling and external humidification often required by heavier systems. This makes our fuel cells uniquely suited for the rapid, agile deployment that Nordic off-grid sectors demand,” added Kruusenberg.

PowerUP’s technology represents a paradigm shift in portable energy. Unlike traditional electric generators of gas or diesel, PowerUP’s fuel cells are silent, require minimal maintenance, and emit only water vapor, making them the only generators that can be used indoors. These features make them ideal for the Nordic environment — from off-grid cabins to critical telecommunications infrastructure.
In November 2025 PowerUP Energy Technologies closed a €10 million Series A funding round to accelerate the manufacturing and commercialisation of its hydrogen-powered electric generators. “This capital will directly allow us to expand our network of resellers, distributors and partners in defence and in the commercial sector,” said Ivar Kruusenberg in November.

Bridging the gap between tech and sustainability
Greener IT Systems brings extensive regional expertise and a deep understanding of the digital and energy infrastructure required to support a sustainable future.
“The Nordic market is unique; our customers demand high performance without compromising environmental integrity. PowerUP’s fuel cells are a ‘special’ breed of technology — compact enough for mobility but powerful enough for industrial use,” said Peter Sterne, co-founder of GITSAB.
“We are looking forward to representing PowerUP in Scandinavia,” said Ammar Alnahhas, CEO of GITSAB. “This partnership allows us to offer a truly circular energy solution to our partners in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.”
The partnership grants GITSAB the authority to market, distribute, and execute commercial agreements, ensuring that local customers have direct access to technical support and next-generation hydrogen solutions. This move strengthens PowerUP’s international footprint and reinforces its commitment to decarbonising portable energy globally.
GOOD TO KNOW
- PowerUP Energy Technologies, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, designs, develops and manufactures versatile, modular hydrogen fuel cell solutions for a wide range of applications, ranging from defence to industrial and off-grid sectors.
- PowerUP’s generators offer silent, emission-free operation, making them ideally suited for sensitive military forward-operating units and critical civilian infrastructure like telecommunication towers and shelters.
- The dual-use nature of the technology means that PowerUP’s solutions, first engineered for space missions with the European Space Agency, translate directly to the high demands of defence, such as energy independence and remote use.
- A subsidiary of Learn2Earn AB, Greener IT Systems specialises in sustainable technology integration. The company focuses on bridging the gap between innovative energy solutions and the Nordic commercial sector, driving the region’s commitment to a greener, more efficient future.
