The international robotics organisation Robotex International, registered in Estonia, and the Finnish science and technology society Tietotekniikan ja Elektroniikan Seura (TiES) have signed a partnership agreement to expand cooperation in robotics education and competitions both in Finland and internationally.
Under the agreement, Robotex Finland will be organized in cooperation with Amazing Robots, taking place on 4 November in Helsinki as part of the Teknologia 25 fair. The joint initiative aims to bring together young engineers, students and technology enthusiasts, offering them opportunities to develop their skills and contribute to shaping the future of robotics.
“Robotics education is about building mindsets. Problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity are the very skills that will define tomorrow’s engineers and entrepreneurs.”
Nathan Metsala, CEO of Robotex International
“This partnership is a great example of how two frontrunners in technology education organisations can join forces to inspire the next generation of innovators,” said Nathan Metsala, CEO of Robotex International.
“Robotics education is about building mindsets. Problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity are the very skills that will define tomorrow’s engineers and entrepreneurs. Various studies show that countries investing early in STEM and robotics education see stronger innovation capacity and higher productivity across all industries. Through this collaboration, we’re helping ensure that the next wave of talent in Estonia, Finland and across Europe is ready for the future of work.”
Cooperation enhances robotics education
As part of the collaboration, the winners of Amazing Robots will be invited to participate in Robotex International 2025 in Tallinn this December, where they will be presented to an international audience and future cooperation plans for 2026 will be announced.
“TiES and Robotex share the same mission – to promote engineering skills and creativity through hands-on robotics challenges.”
Leo Kärkkäinen, member of the TiES Board
Robotex will also include the Amazing Robots competition in its global event lineup, such as LEAP 2026 in Saudi Arabia and Robotex International 2026 in South Korea. In return, TiES will involve Robotex in organizing upcoming Amazing Robots competitions in Finland, further strengthening Nordic collaboration in robotics education.
“TiES and Robotex share the same mission – to promote engineering skills and creativity through hands-on robotics challenges,” added Leo Kärkkäinen, member of the TiES Board.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Robotex continues to grow its global community, connecting educators, students, and companies across more than 15 countries. The Robotex initiative began in Estonia, where it has grown into one of the world’s largest networks of robotics and education festivals. Today, Robotex stands as a success story of Estonia’s technology education export – demonstrating how local knowledge and expertise can inspire and connect young engineers around the globe.
