Wallester has climbed to 38th on the FT1000 — making it Estonia’s fastest-growing company on Europe’s most competitive business ranking.

Estonia is Europe’s most productive startup engine on a per capita basis, but there’s even more dynamism in the overall business ecosystem. Tallinn-based FinTech company Wallester has climbed into the top 40 of the Financial Times‘ prestigious FT1000: Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies ranking, placing 38th overall — up from 47th the previous year.

The FT1000, compiled annually with research firm Statista, tracks the 1,000 European companies with the highest compound annual revenue growth over a three-year period. This year’s edition measured growth from 2021 to 2024, with a minimum qualifying CAGR of 17 per cent. Wallester’s delivered a CAGR of 178.9 per cent over that period, on revenues of €17.15M in 2024.

“We are proud to announce that Wallester has been named among the FT1000 Europe’s fastest-growing companies for the second consecutive year. This year, we rose to 38th place in the overall ranking and secured first place among Estonian companies on the list,” the company said in a statement, per DigiPro.

Wallester also ranked 1st in the fintech, financial services and insurance category across Europe — the most competitive segment for Estonian entrants. Two other Estonian companies made the list: Wire Salad at 174th and MRPeasy at 680th, both in the IT and software category.

Founded in Tallinn in 2016, Wallester offers white-label card issuance and expense management platforms to businesses across Europe and holds a Visa Principal Member licence. It was also named Fintech of the Year at the Europe Fintech Awards and Fintech Growth Story of the Year at the Baltic Fintech Awards 2025.

Last year, the company opened new headquarters at the Golden Gate building in Tallinn’s Rotermann Quarter and now employs over 200 people, with 156 based in Estonia.
