New Delhi hosted one of the year’s most prominent technology gatherings in February, and Estonia made its presence felt.
From 16 to 20 February, the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi brought together governments, innovators, and industry leaders from across the world — among the high-profile attendees were several global heads of state, and CEOs of leading AI labs. Estonia participated with a national pavilion showcasing five companies spanning digital health, enterprise AI, financial compliance, and IoT-driven digital transformation.
The Estonian stand drew attention, including a visit from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Estonia, Alar Karis, who briefed the delegation on Estonia’s digital governance model and the capabilities of the participating companies. The summit also generated enquiries from Indian entrepreneurs exploring Estonia’s e-Residency programme, Startup Visa framework, and opportunities to scale into the European market.

Estonia’s AI edge
Vinod Basliyal, Chief FDI & Export Representative at Enterprise Estonia, notes that the moment carried strategic significance: “The President’s participation in the AI Tech Summit in India aligns meaningfully with the momentum created by the India–EU Free Trade Agreement. This development reinforces our shared commitment to deeper bilateral cooperation. India offers vast market potential for Estonian innovation-driven companies, while Estonia provides a dynamic and digitally advanced ecosystem for Indian entrepreneurs and startups seeking to expand and scale globally.”
Here is a closer look at the five companies that represented Estonia in New Delhi.

Founded in Ukraine and now headquartered in Estonia, Crowdin serves over a million registered users globally.
- Better Medicine is a Tartu-based healthtech company building AI-powered diagnostic tools for radiology. - LEI Register provides Legal Entity Identifier registration and renewal services to businesses worldwide. Founded in Tallinn in 2018, LEI Register has served over 200,000 businesses across 35 countries and processes roughly one in every five LEI registrations globally. The company already has an active presence in India.
- Documental is a clinical decision support platform for mental healthcare. Built to WHO standards and structured around ICD-10 diagnostic criteria, it guides psychiatrists and other mental health professionals through evidence-based diagnosis, treatment planning, and care management — reducing the reliance on habit and memory during time-pressured consultations. The platform includes a patient-facing module for self-assessment and tele-mental health access, and was founded by Professor Eduard Maron of the University of Tartu and Imperial College London.
Delivered from Tallinn, the message in New Delhi was clear — Estonia is open, digital, and ready to partner. The country has already been leading in AI adoption, placing it in the national school curriculum and building an AI-ready digital governance system, as well as boasting a robust tech sector.
