Dronetex goes live: DefSecIntel Solutions and Marduk Technologies joined the debut event at Odense Airport this week as the new DefenceTech coalition is being built.
Two Estonian defence technology companies are among six firms taking part in Dronetex, a new European counter-drone coalition founded by former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, which held its first live demonstration at Odense Airport, Denmark, on 26 May 2026.
Dronetex brings together leading European and Ukrainian defence technology firms to showcase combat-proven counter-drone capabilities at a moment when Europe’s skies could be tested by potential threats. Estonia, with its agile industry and startup ecosystem, stands tall in the new wave of AD innovations.
Estonia as a part of Dronetex and Europe’s push for secure skies
The two Estonian participants are DefSecIntel Solutions, contributing mobile counter-UAS (unmanned aerial systems) and command-and-control capability, and Marduk Technologies, focused on UAV detection and precision targeting.
They join Denmark’s Weibel Scientific (Doppler radar), Ukraine’s Zvook (passive acoustic sensors), Germany’s TYTAN Technologies (autonomous interceptors), and the Netherlands’ DeltaQuad (fixed-wing eVTOL UAVs).
Launched in October 2025, Dronetex complements existing efforts such as the European Commission’s Drone Defence Initiative and various national programmes – rather than waiting for governments to coordinate top-down, the coalition brings together battle-tested industry leaders to deploy solutions at speed and scale.
“Europe’s skies are under threat, and we can no longer rely on slow, top-down processes to defend them. Dronetex is a new model for building defence capabilities – industry-driven, bottom-up, multinational, and proactive rather than reactive,” says Rasmussen.
The system is designed to protect critical infrastructure – airports, energy facilities, ports, and government sites – as well as military forces against drone attacks.
The Odense demonstration comes ahead of a significant calendar moment for the European defence industry. DALO Industry Days 2026, Scandinavia’s largest defence industry exhibition, takes place on 19–20 August at MCH Messecenter Herning in Denmark.
The annual event is held as a central part of the Danish Ministry of Defence’s Open for Business strategy, bringing together the Danish Armed Forces, the Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO), and the national and international defence industry. Estonian firms active in the counter-drone space are expected to attend, with the event offering a direct line to Danish and allied procurement decision-makers.
