Estonian technology company Bamboo Group signed two significant cooperation agreements at GITEX Global 2025 — the world’s largest technology fair held in Dubai — opening new opportunities for the company across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

These partnerships also highlight the growing role of Estonian technology firms in international digitalisation projects, where innovation, flexibility, and high technical competence are highly valued.

One of the agreements was signed with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to develop digital solutions for modernising marine transport services. The collaboration aims to evaluate and pilot technologies that will improve passenger experience, simplify ticketing systems, and support the deployment of next-generation vessels.

“Our collaboration with Zaintech allows us to bring practical and secure digital solutions to companies across the MENA region. Efficient data use helps organisations make better decisions and operate with greater confidence.”

The meeting with RTA was made possible through Estonia’s joint pavilion, organised by the Enterprise Estonia (EIS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and funded by the European NextGenerationEU. Alongside Bamboo Group’s Strategic Partnerships Director Natalia Minayeva, support was provided by Liisa Pakosta, Estonia’s Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs, and Maria Belovas, Estonia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.

“We are delighted to work with RTA to connect Dubai’s rich maritime heritage with cutting-edge technology,” said Natalia Minayeva. “We believe our digital solutions will make marine transport safer and more convenient for both residents and visitors.”

The second cooperation agreement was signed at the same fair with Zaintech, one of the region’s leading technology companies, to integrate Bamboo Group’s smart products Smart Locks Pro and IVO across MENA markets. Smart Locks Pro offers advanced digital access control for critical infrastructure while simplifying security management. IVO is an in-vehicle, context-aware assistant that analyses telematics data to improve driver safety, behaviour, and operational efficiency.

“Our collaboration with Zaintech allows us to bring practical and secure digital solutions to companies across the MENA region,” said Vladislav Herchykau, CEO of Bamboo Group. “Efficient data use helps organisations make better decisions and operate with greater confidence.”

According to Fatoumata Tall, the Enterprise Estonia export adviser for the Gulf Region, Bamboo Group’s agreements with RTA and Zaintech once again affirm Estonia’s reputation as a global digital frontrunner.

GITEX sparks Estonia-UAE collaboration in digital infrastructure

“Through smart mobility and digital infrastructure development, Estonian companies are offering solutions that enhance efficiency and user experience across the region. These agreements reflect the deepening digital cooperation between Estonia and the UAE. It’s inspiring to see GITEX fostering exactly the kind of partnerships that strengthen this connection,” said Fatoumata Tall.

GITEX Global is the world’s leading technology event, held annually in Dubai, bringing together over 6,000 companies and 200,000 visitors from more than 170 countries. The fair focuses on the latest advancements in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity, serving as a key collaboration platform for governments and enterprises worldwide.
