Rollo Robotics, the Estonian deep-tech startup pioneering the world’s first stable autonomous monowheel security robot, has raised €3.7 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Berlin-based FoodLabs, Frontier Tech VC Prototype and supported by Enterprise Estonia‘s RUP programme.

“Mastering the physics of a stable monowheel is a milestone for autonomous mobility and the entire robotics sector,” said Sander Sebastian Agur, Co-Founder of Rollo Robotics. “With the backing of FoodLabs and Prototype, two investors who are at the heart of the European deep-tech ecosystem, we have the resources to bring this technology to the global security market. Our goal is to make autonomous patrolling more cost-efficient, less intrusive, and significantly more versatile by creating a modern robotic platform.”

“We have spent years rethinking how things move through the world. With this funding, we are taking the final step in turning a breakthrough engineering concept into a reliable tool for the global security industry.”

Pioneering the future of global security

Based in Tallinn, Estonia, Rollo Robotics is developing the world’s first stable autonomous monowheel robot. The company combines sleek design with advanced autonomy to create highly maneuverable robots for security and surveillance applications.

Founded in 2025 by Arno Kütt, the creator of Cleveron, and Sander Sebastian Agur, Rollo builds on deep experience in robotics and large‑scale hardware deployment. Kütt’s background at Cleveron—an Estonian robotics leader known for automated parcel lockers and retail robots—provides the team with strong engineering expertise and a proven understanding of how to commercialize complex hardware systems.

With new capital in place, Rollo is focused on a clear mission: advancing its proprietary gyroscopic stabilization technology and moving from advanced R&D into full‑scale commercial production.

“We have spent years rethinking how things move through the world,” added Arno Kütt, Co-Founder. “With this funding, we are taking the final step in turning a breakthrough engineering concept into a reliable tool for the global security industry.”

Engineering a new category of mobility

While the robotics industry has long relied on multi-wheeled platforms, Rollo Robotics has successfully mastered the “stability paradox” of the monowheel. By utilizing high-frequency sensor fusion and proprietary balance control, the Rollo security robot offers a slim, agile profile capable of navigating tight urban spaces and complex industrial corridors where traditional robots fail.

“Western companies are facing rapidly growing hybrid threats to their physical infrastructure. Securing these assets with scalable, autonomous, robotic platforms such as Rollo is essential right now and a gigantic market of the future”, says Andreas Klinger of Prototype.

“Rollo Robotics is a prime example of the world-class engineering coming out of Estonia,” added Julius Strauss of FoodLabs: “Arno and Sander have identified a massive efficiency gap in the security sector. We are proud to support them as they mature this monowheel platform and prepare for mass production.”

The €3.7M pre‑seed round will drive two essential milestones: advancing the technology by strengthening all systems to ensure reliable performance in extreme weather and high‑traffic environments, and preparing for production by building out the supply chain and refining components to meet the growing demand from early pilot programs.
