From 15 to 25 February, a Kenyan business delegation will visit Estonia to explore the country’s innovation, technology, and financial sectors and discuss potential cooperation opportunities between the two nations and their enterprises.
During the visit, the delegation will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna, sign a cooperation agreement between the Estonian and Kenyan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and participate in various seminars, B2B meetings, and visits to companies and science and business parks.
The business delegation comprises representatives from Kenya’s leading enterprises and organisations, including the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local technology firms, and investors. The visitors are particularly interested in Estonia’s e-governance, financial technology, and start-up ecosystem.
“Estonia is internationally renowned for its innovative solutions, strong digital infrastructure, and successful start-up ecosystem. This visit provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen economic ties between Kenya and Estonia and to enhance collaboration in the technology, healthcare, and fintech sectors,” said Joel Karubiu, Kenya’s Export Adviser at Enterprise Estonia (EIS) and one of the organisers of the visit.
The visit will further strengthen the economic relations
“Estonia’s digital expertise and forward-thinking approach are valuable to Kenya, and the business delegation’s visit will further strengthen the increasingly close economic relations. Despite the seemingly long distances, excellent contacts and business opportunities will be established during the visit,” commented Mait Palts, Director General of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The official visit begins on 17 February in Tallinn, where a business seminar will introduce the delegation to Estonia’s digital economy, fintech solutions, and unique e-Residency programme. Speakers at the seminar will include Enterprise Estonia (EIS) representatives, the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITL), Finance Estonia, the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The following day, Kenyan entrepreneurs will engage directly with Estonian businesses through B2B meetings and gain insights into different industry sectors. The delegation will also visit the Tallinn Strategy Centre and Tallinn City Government to learn about business development support, cooperation with various incubators, and financial incentives provided to the private sector for developing innovative solutions in the city.
Kenya and Estonia will sign a cooperation agreement
On 19 February, the Estonian and Kenyan Chambers of Commerce and Industry will sign a cooperation agreement. This will be followed by networking opportunities and business meetings with Estonian entrepreneurs. In the afternoon, the delegation will visit several Estonian companies to understand the local innovation and technology sector better.
On 20 February, the focus will be on funding opportunities and development cooperation, with introductions to initiatives led by the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, the delegation will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna to discuss further collaboration opportunities. The day will also include an overview of Startup Estonia’s activities and a visit to Tehnopol Science Park, where the delegation will explore health and science clusters and discuss potential cooperation with Estonian start-ups.
On 21 February, the delegation will travel to Tartu to visit Tartu Science Park and SPARKUP Innovation Centre, gaining insights into Estonia’s research and development activities.
Enterprise Estonia (EIS), the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry organise the visit of the Kenyan business delegation.
