Estonia announces its presence at VivaTech 2025 (June 11th – June 14th, Paris Expo Porte des Versailles, Hall 1 Booth C06). During the go-to trade show for innovators in Europe, Estonia will showcase some of its most innovative tech champions, across different sectors – from new materials for constructions and packaging to new healthcare solutions.
Represented by Andres Sutt, Minister of Energy and Environment, this participation underscores the shared ambition of Estonia and France to lead innovation and sustainable development in Europe.
“France and Estonia are at the heart of European innovation. The first Estonian Business Hub in Europe was opened in March in Paris to underline the growing strategic nature of our economic ties. This is very well exemplified by the 2023 cleantech cooperation agreement between Estonia and France. Estonian companies such as Skeleton Technologies, Gridio and Woola are co-developing solutions with French partners – from high-performance energy storage and smart EV charging to sustainable packaging,” said Lembit Uibo, Ambassador of Estonia to France.
The country with the most unicorns per capita
With just 1.3 million people, Estonia is home to the highest number of unicorns per capita in the world. With one startup per 860 people, the country leads Europe in entrepreneurship and digital innovations like Bolt, Wise, Playtech and many others.
During VivaTech it will be possible to test and get acquainted with new solutions from 7Sense, Auve Tech, Digiotouch, Raiku, Myceen, Gridio, Markedroid, R8 Tech, Migrevention, KIUD Technologies and Mifundo. The outstanding innovation of Estonian Raiku, Gridio, R8 Tech and Myceen have been awarded the Tech for Change recognition.
Estonia’s success is rooted in a relatively small and smart country which has become a fast-testing ground for testing and starting digital solutions. That resulted in being the first country to offer 100% of government services online – with 98% of tax declarations submitted digitally.
Estonia is the home of the world’s first and still the most popular electronic residence (e-Residence) programme helping more than 100 000 entrepreneurs around the world to conduct their business using Estonian state ecosystem totally online and bringing to the state over 60 mln. of income yearly. And starting from autumn 2025, Estonian schools are preparing to pilot AI-powered learning solutions, in collaboration with leading global partners including OpenAI.
Pushing the boundaries of cleantech innovation
As Europe faces urgent environmental challenges, Estonia emerges as a beacon for cleantech innovation. Thanks to agile legislation, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and unique funding opportunities, Estonia is accelerating the development of sustainable technologies across multiple sectors — from renewable energy to next-generation materials.
The cleantech sector is the backbone of the partnership between France and Estonia for innovation. Estonia and France signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cleantech cooperation, fostering bilateral R&D and commercial partnerships. Estonian companies like Skeleton Technologies, Elcogen, and Woola are already active in the French market.
„The Estonian innovative mindset, ambition and courage help us attract the best talent and provide them with the tools to succeed,” explains Anders Sutt, Minister of Energy and the Environment. “Estonia combines forward-thinking regulation, a collaborative ecosystem, and a clear green transition strategy to support sustainable growth.”
